Structus unveiled its HYDROTRIM drywall corners at the March 2009 INTEX Show in Nashville
New HYDROTRIM drywall corners use water-activated adhesive
April 8, 2009 (Bend, OR) – Structus previewed its newest corner trim product – HYDROTRIM™ – at the 2009 INTEX tradeshow in Nashville. Combining the durability and crisp finish of NO-COAT® drywall corners with the convenience of a water-activated adhesive, HYDROTRIM corners are designed specifically for hangers looking for a faster, simpler alternative to metal and plastic corner bead.
Structus has spent the last four years engaged in intensive research and development to overcome the industry’s past issues with water-based adhesives. The result is an easy-to-apply corner that does not blister, bubble, dent or crack. HYDROTRIM’s patent-pending design includes punch holes in the paper-plastic-paper flaps that allow joint compound to further bond the corner to the drywall, preventing the blistering that has plagued other water-activated products.
“You don’t need a pan and knife; you don’t need a hammer and nails; you don’t need staples and an air compressor; or a can of glue. You just need water,” explains Structus CEO Tim Smythe. “And either your hangers or your finishers can install these HYDROTRIM corners.”
Once wet, HYDROTRIM can be adjusted during installation, and dries within 5-10 minutes for rapid finishing. Structus offered a preview of HYDROTRIM, including live demonstrations, at the INTEX show.
