Structus Positioned for Dramatic Growth in 2006
April 15, 2006 (Bend, OR) – Structus Building Technologies™, the creators and inventors of NO COAT® Structural Laminate (SLAM) corners, continues its dramatic growth trajectory this year with the formation of key strategic partnerships, the construction of a state of the art manufacturing facility, and the launch of new products and accessories for the drywall industry.
“In the past six months, we’ve set some critical decisions in place that position us to revolutionize this marketplace,” explains CEO Tim Smythe. “We know that NO COAT SLAM corners exist in a product category of their own, but over the past year feedback from our customers, our distributor and sales managers has really driven this fact home. Our products are radically different from traditional corner beads, and we’ve adjusted our corporate strategy to reflect this.”
The company also recently changed its name. A vanguard in the industry, Structus was formerly Drywall Systems International. “Our future products will likely expand beyond the drywall industry,” says Smythe. “Structus gives us ample room to grow in new directions.”
Meanwhile, the company’s innovative SLAM corners are aggressively gaining ground against corner beads. This market success has allowed the company to invest heavily in its R & D efforts, with a team of five full time engineers working on a pipeline of future products and accessories. The team and the rest of the Structus staff will also have a new home this fall. The company just broke ground on a state of the art facility to house both its corporate offices and manufacturing – its third facility in ten years.
“With our explosive sales growth, we are going to exceed the capacity of our current facility in short order,” asserts Dave Slavensky, VP of Operations. “The new building will give us an additional 70% production capacity over the next few years. It represents the evolution of the company and an opportunity to increase both our efficiencies and production.”
Last, Structus just finalized an unprecedented 15 year exclusive distribution contract for the NO COAT® product line with GRABBER Construction Products, a leading manufacturer and distributor of quality products built for construction professionals. The agreement solidifies a mutually beneficial strategic partnership. NO COAT® products represent a significant percentage of GRABBER’s annual sales and the leading product line in a new and rapidly expanding category. For Structus, the relationship will continue provide the company with access to a well established, professional distribution network, and a leading edge against competitors.
