MIKE SCHATZLE (Sr. Operations Manager): “NO-COAT was introduced to us and we decided to give it a try. We liked it, and it’s steadily gaining popularity among the trades people. We like it in the office because we find it saves us time and material, which saves us money, keeps us competitive.”

KEITH WIEDERHOLD (General Superintendent): “I’d say we definitely picked up 20% or so – 15-20% on our install time. And then there’s the savings on our material as well.”

CHARLES LEE (Tapers Foreman): “I had a lot of NO-COAT® to put on, and I had very little guys to do it with. So we started putting it on and it went so fast, that I got through what would of took four days, I got done in a day and half. It takes less mud, and it’s a paintable surface also. So it works… especially when you don’t have a lot of people.”

KEITH WIEDERHOLD (General Superintendent): “The one thing I could say, the biggest benefit to us has been reduction in material. Just by the nature of less material, it takes less labor to put it on. It’s a pick up in both areas.”

CHARLES LEE (Tapers Foreman): “I had another employee who had used it at another job, and he said ‘We’re boxing it’ at the other job. And I said ‘Oh really?’ and he showed me how to put the box on, and we started boxing it. We blew past the guys doing it by hand, we just blew right past them. And we got over half the bead done in less than a day. By the half the day the next day, all the bead that I needed coated was coated.”

MIKE SCHATZLE (Sr. Operations Manager): “We were tracking well three weeks ago, before the job was closing, really good. And all of a sudden, we took a $5000 hit to the job. Where did that money go? We had to go back and do the punchlist. What was the punchlist? Corner beads and nicks.

How do you put a price on aggravation? For me, I’m management. Not having to hear that kind of thing is…I don’t know how you price on it. For me, it’s worth it in that regard. But it also corresponds to a savings within the company because we’re not spending money going back and making costly repairs – like almost none.”

CHARLES LEE (Tapers Foreman): “Any paper that’s exposed, if it’s a paintable surface, is full. If it’s full, you don’t have to worry about it – it’s coated. NO-COAT! Way to go baby!”
